Emma is THREE Months Old!

Emma is three months old! I can't believe how fast time is going by! She has grown so much in the last three months. She is so alert these days. On her activity gym, she bats at the toys and also can grab onto them. If we give her keys or rattles she can pick them up from the blanket and hold them in her hands. When laying down on her pillow, she now picks her neck up like she wants to sit up. She is getting so good with her neck control. When doing tummy time, she can pick her neck all the way up and look at us. She isn't a huge fan of tummy time, but does a good job. She makes crawling motions on the play mat. She is really smiling. She smiles now when she sees Tom or myself. She is starting to talk a lot. We have heard "laugh" noises, but just not sure if it's a real laugh or not. She is getting very good at communicating with us. We know what she likes and what she doesn't like. I think that rolling over isn't too far in the distance. When she is laying on her back, she can roll to her side. Once, she rolled to her tummy but couldn't figure out how to go all the way. Her arm was in the way. She is so much fun these days. I love being home with her and experiencing how fast she is growing. We don't go back to the doctor until 4 months, but we tried to measure her at home. We are thinking she is 14.8 pounds and 26 inches.

Growing So Fast...

It's crazy how much Emma changes from day to day. She is 12 weeks old today (I can't believe it)! She is getting to such a fun age. She is now interacting so much more with us. When we go to pick her up, she smiles at us as soon as she sees us. She is able to grab and hold rattles. She is putting everything into her mouth (especially her hands). On her play gym, she is able to hit the things hanging down. When on her back, she can roll to her side. When we do tummy time she can look up at you while holding her neck up. She also makes the crawling motions, it's so cute! We tried her out in the Bumbo seat last weekend. She is getting so good at her neck control, but it's still a little wobbly. We have heard some small noises which sound like a little laugh. She is starting to "baby talk" and it's so fun to talk back and forth with her. I can't believe how fast the last twelve weeks have gone by! I am so grateful that we planned it just right. Thank goodness for summer break~ I don't have to go back to work until August 16th. She will be five months. That is going to be the hardest day of my life, but thank goodness it's not this week!

Emma's First Time Swimming!!

On Memorial Day, we decided to take Emma to my Aunt Patti's pool. She is not allowed to be in the sun or use sunscreen, so we didn't go swimming until 7 at night. At first, she wasn't so sure but I think she started to enjoy it. She didn't really splash around, but she didn't cry either :) Here are some pictures of our bathing beauty:

Emma is TWO months old!

I can't believe how fast the last two months have gone by! Emma is now two months old! We got her shots yesterday. It was very hard on both Tom and myself. She screamed, like we've never heard her scream. She seemed to calm down quickly and slept most of the day yesterday and a lot of today. She hasn't had a fever, been fussy, or any other side effect so far. She is now 12 pounds and 7 ounces. She is in the 90th percentile for weight. She is 23 3/4 inches long and in the 95th percentile for length. She's growing great! She has a lot of baby chub, but it's adorable. She is really getting a personality. She is so laid back and rarely ever cries. We are so blessed. She is becoming so much more alert and focusing on objects. She is smiling all of the time. I love how much she changes day to day.

My First Mother's Day!

I had a fabulous first Mother's Day! Tom came home from work on Saturday and brought me beautiful flowers and a very nice card. Emma and Riley both got me cards and gift cards to get some clothes (since mine don't really fit yet). My parents, cousin Megan, and Aunt Patti and Uncle John were in town so we all did dinner together. Tom made everyone breakfast in the morning. It is so awesome being a mom and I love that little girl more than anything in the world. :)

One Month Check-Up

Today we took Emma to her one month check-up (even though she is a little over 5 weeks). She got her 2nd Hepatitis B shot. She did so good with it. She only cried for a minute or two. She now weighs 10 pounds, 10 ounces and is 22 3/4 inches long. She is doing great! We go back at 2 months for more shots :(

First Smile

The last couple of days, it has looked like Emma was starting to smile. Yesterday when I was talking to her, she definitely smiled so I grabbed my phone and took this picture.
